My Consignment Finds! #JBFPGH

Well, you've heard me talk about it all week and yesterday the day finally arrived!

SHOPPING DAY!!

The Just Between Friends of Pittsburgh sale has begun!

I went during the presale, so I hit the dome at 10:00am sharp! My goal was to find Lily clothes for the spring and summer.  Dresses mostly. I had a couple of things on "just check it out" list, but clothes for my big girl were the priority.  Violet is lucky enough to get all Lily's hand-me-downs, so with the exception of finding and/or choosing a few things here and there for her, she is set.

This was the front row of clothing and about 2 aisles are missing on the right in my picture. TONS of clothing!

Allllllllll the way in the back...a bunch of play kitchens, grills, a sweet little grocery store set up (that was only $17), little outdoor climbers and slides!

This was my view as I waited a few minutes to go inside and literally does not do this facility and the amount of items justice.  It's just one little piece!!  Next time I'm remembering to do the panoramic shot!

From the back by the wagons, cozy coupes, push cars, play mats, exersaucers...

Overflowing tables of toys that are separated, so you have a starting point when you go in to find what you're looking for!

This was just a shot from about mid-dome over towards the clothing to give perspective on how far these amazing bargains reach!

This is a picture of my consignment sale shopping buddy, Amy and doesn't even do justice to all that we found, actually!

Violet's sweet little finds:  {See that old school Pittsburgh Penguins onesie?  Yeah, that was for her Daddy! And only $4.}

Big sis hit the motherload! You can't even see it all actually, but loads of dresses, a pair of jeans I loved with apples on them, name brand pajammies in excellent condition. All her clothes are actually name brands and in excellent condition and not one single item was more than $5.

I also scored 5 pair of shoes in excellent condition, including 2 pair of Crocs.  Lily also loves rainboots and I had lots to choose from--even with her big shoe size!  I picked up several other items including some bath toys and a bicycle helmet.  And the best part is, there are a ton to choose from I am able to carefully look over and choose what's best for me.

There is still a bunch to be found!! And a lot of time to shop!! All day Saturday from 8am-5pm and then Sunday is the extra bargains on already bargain prices--50% off day!  New merchandise comes out on Saturday too, so if you've already shopped, you can head back to see if that item you were looking for, but couldn't find is there!

Just Between Friends is the mother of all consignment sales and I cannot wait until the Fall sale and the Spring hasn't even ended!  Get there!

Just Between Friends: Pittsburgh North Spring Sale {Giveaway}

Six months ago today, we added a sweet new baby girl to our lives.  Violet is our last baby--the completion of our family.  Being another girl following her 3 1/2 year old sister, Lily, we lucked out in the ability to reuse most of the baby items we'd gotten for our Lily.  Yay for us!   As the sentimental, sappy mama that I am, I want some things that are new to this baby girl.  Do I want to pay a bunch of money just because I'm sappy???   NOPE!

Enter Just Between Friends of Pittsburgh again into my life!

I first started shopping this sale 4 years ago when I was pregnant with Lily.  It is the mother of all consignment sales for me! It's not just that I'm sappy and remember shopping for my newest baby arriving 10 years after my first.  It's the items I've found, the quality, the people involved in the sale from the owner to the volunteers and everything in between. This is my favorite sale, hands down!

Last year, my one MUST HAVE item was a sit n stand stroller for my toddler and my baby.  I did not leave disappointed! In fact, I was so ecstatic about my find and the price that everytime I pull out my stroller I literally smile at how happy it makes me! Cheesy?! For sure, but my bargain loving heart is happy! My girls are happy too!

This time, I have a 6 month old to shop for, as well as my 3 1/2 year old, and even my 10 year old stepdaughter!  I always peek at the sports equipment for my teenage son who plays hockey and lacrosse for good, quality used equipment.  While I no longer will look for maternity clothes, I always looked for them at this sale as well!  There is basically something for everyone!  One stop shopping at incredible bargains is the place for me!

This year I'm still just shopping  since I still have a growing baby.  But she has outgrown Fall and Winter items, I've already started putting items aside getting ready to consign for the Fall sale! I'm excited to start that new venture too!

I want to help you be at this sale before the general public! Thanks to the folks at JBF Pittsburgh,  I'm giving away 2 pre-sale passes for you and your guest to shop on Thursday, April 24th from 2pm-9pm!
The rafflecopter giveaway below has many opportunities to enter and some you can even come back and do daily!  The giveaway will run April 17, 2014 through midnight April 23, 2014.  Winner will be notified by email and also announced on this page.

What Time is It?! JBF Time!!

It's that time of year again!

Consignment sale shopping!!

Ever since I was pregnant with Lily, this has become one of my favorite sports! Sports?! Yes, sports! If you're doing it right, you're sweating when you leave!

I've been going to the Just Between Friends Pittsburgh sale for the last 3 plus years and it continues to remain my favorite!  The volunteers who are working, the people who run the sale, the organization of the entire event both before and in the actual venue are unmatched.

Last Spring, I was newly pregnant with this little baby girl who is about to grace our lives in the next 6 weeks and my main goal was to find a sit and stand stroller for her and LilySeriously the bargain of the day for me!!

Y'all know how quickly kids outgrow clothes, right?  Why buy them new when someone else already has and decided to consign them.  You won't find ripped, stained, blemished clothing at this sale.  No one would know most of Lily's clothes come from a consignment sale if I wasn't bragging about it!

I love a bargain and the JBF sale is the place to go!  Toys, books, clothing, bigger outdoor toys, sports equipment, baby items like strollers {duh}, bouncy seats, boppies, potty chairs...and so on and so on and so on.

I'm cutting it close on finding newborn, 0-3month, and 3-6month stuff for this baby... she and Lily are wrong seasons for the teeny stuff, so I will definitely be there for sleepers and long sleeved onesies and hopefully a newbie Halloween costume!  Here's hoping I don't have her that weekend!!

Score at Just Between Friends!

My mission with this new baby has been to find a sit and stand stroller.  Knowing that I'd need containment for my Lily, who loves to run any chance she gets.  Remember Halloween? Ummm, yeah.  Containment necessary.

I'm not one who has to have brand new everything.  This baby will have her own new stuff, but the big stuff? Not necessary.  So, I've been scouring Craigslist and consignment sales to find one in good shape at the price I want to pay.

Remember when I told you about the Just Between Friends consignment sale in Pittsburgh this coming weekend?  Yesterday, I was fortunate enough to be invited to a luncheon and then had the ability to shop early at the presale.

At the lunch, I met Kelly, the guru who owns and runs the JBF sale, and some of the great local ladies of Macaroni Kid whom I've "known" online for awhile, but had never met in person.  It was wonderful to put faces to names! By the way, if you're not familiar with Macaroni Kid in your area...find them! It's a wonderful free resource for all things family and mamas.

After lunch, we were off to explore the enormous sale! I mean, enormous! There were so many items--toys, baby swings, strollers, clothes 0-3months up to size 12, shoes, maternity clothes, outside toys, sport equipment, shoes, toddler tables, toy boxes, books, puzzles etc etc etc.  If you need it or think you need it for a baby or kid, they've got it!

I headed to the strollers first.  After all, this sit and stand stroller is my mission for this new baby!

Rows and rows of strollers.

I saw three sit and stands.  All three were one brand in particular. One was more the double stroller type with the two actual seats and not what I was looking for.  So, then I was down to two.  Exactly the same except for color.  Then I noticed one did not have the infant seat attachement which is super important to me.  I headed over to the infant seat section and found a brand like the one I have to make sure it would fit on the one sit and stand that did have the attachment. Score!  I looked over the stroller, made sure the buckles all worked, noticed a tray in the basket underneath which was the snack tray after the infant seat is no longer being used.  Okie dokie, this is exactly what I was looking for!  Seriously, I scored this gem for thirty dollars!!

I strolled around the entire place just looking and thinking about what I might need for our new baby and knew I would be looking for summer dresses for Lily

The clothing racks were jammed full!! I've typically found that the older Lily has gotten the harder it's been to find clothes for her at consignment.  Kids obviously are harder on clothes as they get older, so there's less selection.  This was not the case this year at this sale! The clothes were in great shape with no holes and/or stains! I felt like the inspection of items before allowing into the sale was a legitimate action. One that is an important selling point for me!

I was looking for specifics this time...sun dresses and 4th of July outfits. I found exactly what I was looking for and Lily will be set for the month of July, not just the 4th. :)

The time is also coming after our new baby girl arrives and begins to outgrow her baby clothes and items, that I will be consigning and selling since this is our last baby.  Just Between Friends is the sale for me!  I'm already looking forward to the Fall sale!

Be sure to head out there this weekend!

Thank you, Kelly, for a great sale and a great time!!

Just Between Friends Pittsburgh Giveaway

When I first found out I was pregnant with Lily at the end of 2009, I started looking at baby items...cautiously. The price of diapers, clothes, the baby items available, you know, pretty much everything.

After we'd found out she was a girl, I was super excited to start my bargain shopping for this precious little one! One day that Spring,  I was driving and saw a sign for a Just Between Friends {JBF} of Pittsburgh consignment sale and decided that was a perfect place to check out some deals for this new baby we were expecting.  This was my first consignment sale in Pittsburgh~Spring 2010.

I checked out the website at home and signed up for the presale as a newly expecting mama. It was perfect and thus began my love of consignment shopping for the last few years! The quality of items consigned is excellent and the quantity of items available still shocks me! There is so much available and it's really good stuff.  Let's face it. Kids outgrow their clothes so quickly, so it just makes sense to essentially share with other people. Consignment sales are genius!

The Fall season consignment shopping is just beginning and lucky for you I've got two passes to give away for the JBF Sale that begins this week! Not only for the sale...but the presale Thursday night going on from 5pm-9pm!
