Back to Regularly Scheduled Steph

Whew.  Excuse the vent yesterday, but thanks for listening.  I felt slightly better after getting it out and a good cry.  Then a little alone time and a good night's sleep.

Today's already a much better day...thank God.

A couple funny things recently that made me laugh.

~Andrew was sitting at the dining room table eating a bowl of Lucky Charms, reading the comics from the Sunday paper like the old man he is minding his own business.  Lily who is always interested in what he's doing, stood on her tippy toes and grabbed on to the edge of the table to try to peek up. She's not tall enough, but it doesn't stop her from trying, of course.  Instead, she's just at the stage where she can reach the top of the table only with her hands.  Instead of grabbing the table, she grabbed her brother's bowl!  Over spills the Lucky Charms...on Andrew, on her, on the floor, on the chair.

Andrew was mad.  I went in to find Lily sitting in the milk on the floor--she had no more reason to be standing--picking up Lucky Charms and marshmallows saying, "mmmmm".  I couldn't stop laughing at the whole scenario which finally made Andrew laugh. :)

~Mondays tend to wipe George out and he crashes early.  Like super early.  Andrew has Scouts on Mondays, so by the time we're back from Scouts, he's crashed for the night.  Last night, Andrew and I got back from Scouts and I went in the bedroom to get the baby monitor, George suddenly woke up from a sound sleep, sat up and said, "Did you start your period?"

blank stares from me.

"What?"
"Did you start?"
"No, it's not time. Why are asking?"
"I had a dream you're pregnant."

Andddddd back to sleep.

I could not stop laughing! So out of the blue and I'm not pregnant, not a chance.

But for him to wake out of a dead sleep to ask me was so bizarre.

And because no happy post is complete with a cute baby picture:

Happy Tuesday!

The Big Vent

Ever have one of those days where everything and everyone is getting on your nerves?

Yeah, that's me today.  From the towels in the laundry basket to the way the substitute mailman can't seem to close our mailbox.

 I.R.R.I.T.A.T.E.D.

Obviously I'm just letting everything under my skin today, but whatever.

I'm breaking my own rule of not writing about certain someones, jysk.

It's funny how my husband and I let stuff bother us at totally different times.  For example, Saturday, we got notification in the mail we're heading back to court. SERIOUSLY. She's insane.  It pissed him off only because of the intrusion and the stupidity of it. I was calm, the voice of reason, just do what we have to do and by Saturday evening we'd written our reply and were done with it.

Today, it pisses ME off.  And he's calm. The stupidity of it. And I'm not just saying stupidity because I'm irritable. STUPIDITY for real.   Of course, with no regard to the kid that's involved in it and the effects and impact on her.

And the inconvenience on my life, AGAIN.  And after four freaking years of this bullshit, come on.  Grow the hell up and communicate with you daughter's father for God's sake.  And yeah, when you teach your kid that keeping secrets, lying and getting away with everything is the way to live, don't be surprised when she does that TO you.

I'm just so entirely sick of this that I'm ready to drive away for awhile.  Oh wait. I was going to do that, now I have to come back early to deal with this crap.

While, I feel truly completely confident about the outcome of this newest court adventure, I'm still so sick of dealing with it.

In other news, I'm over the heat and would like to be able to spend time OUTSIDE.
~I'm pissed that my MIL is just hateful.
~I'm pissed that my brother flies across the country, yet won't drive 2 1/2 hours to meet my family for one day.  Oh well, I realized I should have written that relationship off years ago.
~I'm pissed that if I'm not the one who calls/texts/emails, there is no relationship.
~I'm sick of being judged because of MY life and MY choices.  Perhaps if I did that to you all the time,    you'd not like it either and eventually hit a breaking point.

Yeah, I get it. I'm the problem.  It's been crammed down my throat a thousand times.  It's me. I'm the issue.

So, excuse me while I stay involved with people who give a shit about my children and my husband and me and are interested in two-sided relationships.

If you want to be a part of my life, it won't solely be because we're "friends" on Facebook.

I'm not perfect, never claimed to be.  And yes, I make mistakes. HUGE mistakes. Not just past mistakes. Current ones. And I try deal with them and the people I hurt.

There is nothing left for me in Arizona and I hope we eventually move somewhere other than Pittsburgh, but for now, we are here and I'm trying to make the best of it. Of late, it's been pretty decent--other than the weather. ;)

I've had it with passive-aggressive and people who are unable to communicate or attack when they do.

That's all for now.

Let's Go Devils!

I'm taking a break from the last couple birthday posts I have left in me, but will put them back in place when I write them. :)

Yesterday, we went to the Western PA Arizona State University Alumni Chapter's "Sun-Devil Send-Off". Turns out the guy who runs the Chapter, lives 5 minutes from us and Andrew and I actually drive past his house each week on the way to Boy Scouts.  Small world.

I geared up George and Andrew days beforehand and told them this was one of those things they "had" to do because we're a family and we were going. :)   Turns out they had a good time too!

I was again excited to find connection here in Pittsburgh!

Lily was donning her ASU cheerleader outfit, Andrew wore his ASU maroon tshirt and George wore a gold tshirt. We have to get him an ASU shirt!

We answered some ASU trivia questions, talked about how different ASU was in all of our varying times there on campus, talked ASU sports, met a lot of new people and encouraged the freshman heading out next week. :) We had a barbeque, Andrew was able to swim and another ASU Alum had a boy his age too.

It was a lot of fun just getting to know other local people with ties to my alma mater!  George said as we were leaving, "Wow. Really nice people. I'm glad we went. It's been really nice getting to meet and know good people recently."    This made my heart happy, as he's getting a clearer picture of what "normal" is for me. ;)

We got our future littlest Sun Devil cheering on already!
