Monday Minute...You're the One that I Want

Monday Minute

1 - Think back as far as you can, what's the first tape, record, etc you remember listening to?
Yes, an 8-track of Grease.  I wore it out.

2 - What's the first concert you've ever been to, the year and who performed?
1983.  My dad took me.
His opening act:

4 - If you went to your Senior Prom and had a date, do you still speak to said person?
I did go, but no, I haven't spoken to him in years.  Good guy. Wonder what became of him...

5 - Name the one television show that's no longer on the air that could have gone on forever.

Monday Minute...The Finale.

Monday Minute

Click on the button above to link up for Ian's final Monday Minute!
Do it.

1. Have you ever lied on one of your Monday Minute answers?
~Nope. Should I start now??? Oh damn. This is the last Monday Minute. Shucks. And to think I could have started lying.

2. What is on your bedside table?
~Ummm....a clock radio, a pregnancy test, 3 half full bottles of water, a white Gerbera daisy, a letter and a book.

3. Lose your sight or hearing?
~Of course I'd choose neither, but between these two... sight.  I'm such a visual person that my mind can picture what I hear. I cannot imagine a life without music.

4.Would you rather give up all kinds of sexual contact for one full year or give up your DVR for three months?
~ I haven't even had a dvr for a year of my life. I could TOTALLY live without it despite loving it.  Living without my husband's lovin'...not.an.option.

and finally...

5. Name one thing that you are proud of that you've accomplished in your life.
~I'll name two: Andrew and Lily. ♥

Monday Minute

Monday Minute

This Monday Minute is co-hosted by the Anywhoodle NOLA Queen, Kimber !

1.If you could have plastic surgery, would you? If so, what would you get done?
~I honestly don't think I would.
Every part of me comes from my parents. I had some self-esteem issues in high school (duh, who doesn't) and although I'm looking forward to losing the baby weight and then some, I'm really ok with who I am.
My husband loves me, is attracted to me and I was made the way I am.  Flaws and all.

2. What laws have you broken?
~Super nerd.  I speed.

3. What is your quirkiest habit?
~I correct grammar everywhere...
in my head, when people speak incorrectly, online, on signs that I see in grocery stores, around town etc.
I am a grammar snob. I admit it.
http://gotonepastgoalie.blogspot.com/2010/04/pour-your-heart-outgrammar-police.html

4. If you only had 3 songs to listen to for the rest of your life what would they be?
THIS QUESTION IS TOOOOOOO HARD!
one:
~Miranda Lambert:  The House that Built Me

I have literally been thinking about this question all day...
I just can't answer this. Music is much too important to me...don't know how to live without it.

and finally...

5. How often do you have sex?
~Well, let's see it's been a little over 3 weeks and not that I'm counting, but we have 3 more weeks remaining until my postpartum check up.  Dying over here!
We have a healthy sex life, hence the 2 pregnancies this last year.  ha!
Sex in your 30s is AWESOME!

Monday Minute...What's in a Name?

Monday Minute

1. Who is your "what-if" person? ("What-if" person being what if I married this person or am now in a relationship with "this" person)
~Having been divorced, I think I wouldn't answer this the same as I might have in the past.

I am lucky enough to have found my soulmate at the age of 34 and KNEW that I had loved him my entire life...I just didn't know it was HIM until we met.  I don't do "what-if" well.  Lucky enough, we found each other and have built  a life together. It's the simple things.

2. What is your nickname?
~Depends on is doing the describing.... Steph (friends and family), Faith (online), Babe (the husband), Stalker (I see this one online a lot.)

3. If you could choose how you died, how would you like to die?
~AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA  fiery crash off a bridge as long as I have an emergency hammer in my car.

Honestly, in my sleep with my husband. (kinda like in The Notebook)

4. If you could have named yourself, which name would you have picked?
~I like my name...wouldn't change it.

5. Who were you named after or for what reason did your parents choose your name?
~I wasn't named after anyone. My parents liked "Stephanie" and picked it.  Their other choices were Jacqueline or Jennifer.  Jacqueline would have been after my grandpa Jack. Jennifer in 1973, wasn't as popular as it has become.

My middle name "Lynne" was after both my parents. My dad's middle name "Lynn" and my mom's "Anne". So they combined them for the spelling of mine.

Monday Minute.

Monday Minute

What's your real name?
~Stephanie

Have you ever fabricated a story or anything on your blog?
~AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Nope. Never.
Liars, sneaky, manipulative stuff are things I truly HATE.  So, nope. Not. A. Chance.

When in the car do you listen to the radio/CDs/iPod/etc?
~Sirius Radio and CDs primarily.
I was country when country wasn't cool...

Describe the 'sexiest' item of clothing that you own
~I have this hot green and black corset. I love it. G loves it. REOW!

Would you be willing to breastfeed your friend's three year old child?
~Just because? Or life and death situation?
I'm not a fan of toddlers breastfeeding, so since I wouldn't be nursing my OWN that old, I'm gonna say no.

Monday Minute...One Scoop at a Time

Monday Minute time again....

Monday Minute

But this week is being hosted by...

so click on Jen's button above to link up!

1. Can you burp the ABC's?
~Not a chance. I'm not typically a burper (aside from pregnancy) and I probably couldn't get past the letter B even then. I can't force myself to burp either.

2. So lets just say you have a 9+ hour drive ahead of you would you consider wearing Depends so you didn't have to stop multiple times?
~Nope.  I'm a pretty good holder and only stop when absolutely necessary!

3. Would you rather...run your tongue down five feet of a NYC street or press your tongue into a strangers nostril?
~Neither. And honestly at this point in my pregnancy, the thoughts of BOTH  of these make me want to vomit!

4. If you had an envelope that contained the date you would die would you open it?
~Part of me wants to scream "Yes!", but the realistic me knows that I would end up with SOOOOO much anxiety and anticipation towards that day, I would just be a trainwreck.

I live my life knowing that it is very short...as a result of losing my dad 15 years ago. In turn, I tell people how I feel about them, value the important things, and try to make the most of everyday, so when my time comes, it comes and no regrets. ♥

5. Which one song describes your sex life best?
~This is a hard one (no pun intended).  I'm gonna have to think more about it and TRY to come up with something...
I will say, when my man plays his guitar, it's OVER for me... Total turn on.

Monday Minute...Guest Host Edition

Ian's Monday Minute is being guest hosted this week by:
So click on the button above to link up!

1 - What's the specs of the first computer you owned?
~ Are we talking the original Texas Instruments my family had in the 80s?  'Cause this is it!

2 - Are you on Twitter/Facebook/etc, if so link it/them up?

3 - Who's more to blame for the oil mess in the gulf - BP or the Gov't and why?
~
The opinion I'd like to share is I'm annoyed that Obama has asked for and been approved to send A LOT of money elsewhere:
"President Obama pledged an infusion of $400 million in aid for housing, school construction and business development in the Palestinian territories Wednesday..." (http://articles.latimes.com/2010/jun/10/world/la-fg-obama-mideast-20100610)' "

~I have no issue with helping others. None.
My issue is aside from what is going on in the Gulf region....what about OUR schools and housing?????? Pledge $400 million in aid to the people who are living within OUR OWN COUNTRY struggling.

4 - What's your favorite Dr. Suess book?
~This is a super tough one for me! I LOVELOVELOVE Dr. Seuss!
But, I think I can narrow it down to two:

And finally...

5 - What did you want to be when you grew up?
~I have ALWAYS wanted to be 3 things:  a teacher, a singer, and an attorney.

As a little girl, I played school all the time and sang along to the Grease 8-track into the top of my canopy bed. When I was in 5th grade, I fell in love with the legal system.

I started college with the intention of going to law school upon completion of my Bachelor's.
Life happened--my dad died and I moved to Nashville to pursue that singing dream.
Several years later, I married and A was born, so back to my original love of children I went. Opened a child care business in my home until I went back to school to get my Bachelor's in Elementary Ed. Teaching kindergarten to wide-eyed, excited 5 year old sponges is THE. BEST. JOB. EVER.
♫ I opted for incorporating a lot of music into my curriculum! ♫
So, that's 2 out of 3.  I have had my fill of the legal system for now.   :)

Monday Minute...*snort* Edition

1 - Do you *snort*?
~Never. Not a snorter at all.

2 - Our friend, has a nickname and it's Daffy.  What's your nickname?
~ When my youngest brother was little --he's 8 years younger--he couldn't say "Stephanie" so he called me "Tessie". That stuck for a long time. When my other younger brother --3 years younger--was little, HE couldn't say "Stephanie" so he called me "Tabenny".  My dad called me that until he died in 1995.
G has a few. "Babe" is the text nickname. But, funny enough that one is only in text.

3 - Do you know sign language?
~Waaaaaaay back in the mid 70s, my parents put me in a pilot preschool program at the Western PA School for the Deaf. The school wanted to integrate hearing kids and deaf kids. (I can hear.) I was fluent in sign language at the age of 3.   But just like anything, a skill like that that isn't used, gets lost. :(  So, I do know the alphabet --thanks to my son's preschool 7 years ago and sign being a part of his curriculum.  He was sooooo cute at the age of 4 signing The Star Spangled Banner!!

4 - What's a sample convo from your hood?
I went browsing through the archives of my life...
~Musings from my classroom in the ghetto where I was very blessed to teach:

-5 yr. old boy: "I watched Long Order last night."
me: "Law and Order??"
boy: "NO! Long Order" (yes, it's law & order)
me: "That's a grown-up show"
boy: "My mom says I can watch that or Prison Break"
me: "Those are scary shows. Tell your mom you want to watch cartoons"

-We were discussing what sports we all liked best and one boy told me he was going to tell his mom that I loved baseball. So when he left that afternoon I said, "What are you going to tell your mom that I love?"
His response: "Me." (This is why I teach)

-Question to each student: "What did you do this past weekend?"
5 yr. old girl: "I played hide and sink."

-Long Order boy: "I wanna be called Stanley"
me: "Will the real Slim Shady please stand up?"

-Cleaning the tables with shaving cream one day, had a boy with a high pitched voice say, "Uh oh!" as he stood at the table with shaving cream all over his hands. I asked, "What's the matter?" He just stood and looked at me and then I realized his shorts were down around his ankles. I asked my aide to come over to help since I also had shaving cream on my hands. She helped him pull up his shorts and looked at me and said, "He doesn't have any underwear on!" hahahaha I asked his mom if he gets himself dressed and she said yes and he doesn't like to wear underwear!
(I love teaching kindergarten!! )

5-  Do you sleep with electronic devices - i.e. laptop, Blackberry, iPhone, etc?
~Blackberry on the nightstand. I use it as my alarm, my clock, my connection. :) I, too, find that blinking message light hard to ignore...

Head over to Ian's to link up!

MISSION: MONKEY

Have you ever peed in the shower/bath/pool?
~I have never peed in the pool or the bath to my knowledge (I can't speak for the time when I was little enough that I have no recollection. :) )
I have peed in the shower, but didn't ever do it until I was pregnant with my son 11 years ago. When ya gotta go, ya gotta go!

What is your biggest pet peeve?
~Liars and lying.  Seriously I hate it.
~On a smaller scale....poor GRAMMAR! Seriously. Grammar Police

What's the story behind your blog title?
~We miscarried (after a surprise pregnancy --not trying) early last July and when I told G that we were pregnant, I had said --since we were not trying and since the Penguins had just won the Stanley Cup, "Well, looks like we got one past the goalie too!"  We're a hockey-loving family, it stuck. Then when we found out we were pregnant with Lily, it just seemed right to name my new blog to record my pregnancy.

What is your definition of success?
~Happiness, love and peace. I've lived long enough and had enough life experience to know that those things are what truly matter.

If you were famous, what would you want to be famous for?
~I would want to be a country music star. :)  I moved to Nashville at the age of 22 to sing my heart out. Best decision I ever made.  Wasn't famous to anyone other than my family and friends, but I love singing and that would be the famous path I would take.

1 - Ever take a shit in the woods?
Yes, once while camping. Sometimes it is a necessity. All the times it is gross.

2 - If you won $1,000, what's the first thing you would do with it besides give me a cut?
I'd take G and me on a mini vaca. We deserve it.

3 - What's your favorite phrase?
I don't know what it would be really.... it used to be "Can I just tell you..." but that was years ago and the last one I remember.

4 - Fill in the blank - the world would be a better place if ______ left the planet.
I really don't need to answer this. If you've read my blog, you know.

5 - How do you take your coffee or tea?
~Not a coffee drinker...at all. Ever.

~Sweet tea vodka.  Firefly. Best.Invention.Ever.
I do love me some non-alcoholic sweet tea too and I have missed it since I've been pregnant. Too much sugar, so I don't even tempt myself, but oh I can't wait!
For both.

Time it goes so fast When you're having fun

At what age did you lose your virginity?
~18. (not a made up answer for my mother's sake)

Any good sex tips or advice?
~Be a good giver and receiver. Proactive. Especially after having kids...make time, find time, cultivate your relationship. 30's are awesome!

Lights on or off when you have sex?
~Who cares. Both.

Have you ever been caught in the act of having sex?
~Nope. Thank God.

Ever catch your parents (or kids) having sex?
~Parents. Once. IT WAS TRAUMATIZING.
I have NEVER not knocked on a closed door ever again.

Happy Monday! (sorry Mom)
