A Few Highlights from the 4th of July Weekend

It's difficult after busy weekends, such as this past one, to pick and choose pictures to post, so I'll just hit some highlights. :)
We spent a lot of time outdoors enjoying our family, barbecuing, swimming, fireworks, going to the local car cruise, bean bag tossing, talking, laughing and just relaxing! It was wonderful!

I've mentioned before how we recently reconnected with some family friends who my parents were close with in Arizona. I'm still amazed they live so very close to us here and they have taken us in as their own and the comfort and love I feel is indescribable.

For me, it's a connection to my parents and feeling like I have someone right here "in my corner" no matter what.

That probably doesn't make sense to someone who has never moved far away from family, but it is so meaningful to me and I could not adequately express how important it is to me.
They're my "stand-in" parents.  (despite not being old enough to be my parents. ;) ) We love them and are so, so blessed to have them in our lives!

We're all a little sun toasty after spending the day in the pool, but what a great day!

Coca-Cola is all American, right? ;)
Daddy & Lily have a special relationship

She's also a mama's girl...lucky me!

Andrew & Lily adore each other!
 Swimming is hard work. ;)
The weekend brought out some interesting faces from the kids. haha
 Watchin' fireworks!
 love this kid!!

Happy 4th of July!
