Here We Come A Caroling

Last night we went Christmas caroling at a local nursing home with Andrew's cub scouts.  We had talked with Andrew about what to expect and how excited many of these people would be to see kids and hear Christmas carols.  It was a fun family night for George, Andrew, Lily and me. :)

The people watching were very sweet and so grateful for these boys to be there.

We met a gentleman who was 104 years old who adored Lily. He just kept telling us how health and family was all that mattered and to enjoy these moments with her.  He really was so thoughtful and sweet. I'm glad we met him.

Lily was a BIG hit with all the people we met, as she usually is with older people that we run into while out shopping or something...they just ADORE her and always stop us to talk to her or ask about her. ♥

There were lots of falalalalas, we wish you merry Christmases, santa clauses coming to town, jingle bells and of course, 12 days of Christmases.  The Pack also gave out gifts and handmade cards to the residents and  had snacks after the caroling which, of course, the kids loved!

Lily loved everything so much, she just couldn't stay awake any longer. :)

George and I also talked about how a simple thing like singing Christmas carols for our older generations puts a lot in perspective about life...

I'm glad we were able to do this as a family. It was fun night. :)

  2. Watching my kids do sweet stuff like this makes me cry. I'd bet you had a few tears in your eyes. They grow so fast, and somewhere along the way, they "hear and see" what we hope they learn. Andrew is a handsome boy! I'm glad you're happy. Merry Christmas to all of you!
