Baby, Baby Let Me Sleep On It

Lily moved into her crib between her 7th and 8th weeks from her previous sleeping quarters of her bassinet in our bedroom.

At the beginning this was how she was feeling about it:

And now:

(Yes, my daughter sleeps on her belly sometimes and yes, I have the bumper in her crib. I'm ok with it and have a healthy 10 year old, so I'm comfortable with my choices.)

She's been getting good stretches of sleep for a the last few weeks with one wake up in the middle of the night for sure.

The last two nights, she went to bed at 9pm and slept until 6am!!  I don't know about y'all, but that's night until morning!

9 hours uninterrupted! WOO HOO!!

I'm hoping we've achieved the real "sleeping through the night" milestone enabling mama a normal awake period. :)

p.s. she sleeps all night on her back.

  1. You know what I think is a hoot? When I had my kids (they're 20 and 22 now)....the docs and studies were all gung-ho on how you should NEVER put a baby to sleep on her back because she might aspirate. You were to ALWAYS put them to sleep on their tummies.

Fast forward to current times, and the advice they give you now is the complete OPPOSITE.

It's a good thing I didn't start having babies again late in life, cuz I'd be pulling my hair out with confusion. ;)

  2. Ohh, she is so adorable! I love that first pic. She was ticked. I agree with Marlene, they switch what they say about how babies should sleep so much, it's mind boggling.

  3. She is so adorable! My niece is 8 weeks on the 23rd and she is so much fun! I just love babies. And I remember that my daughter flipped over on her belly at a very early age because she hated sleeping on her back. She is 5 now and just fine.

Oh and the title is great. It is from one of my favorite songs ever! Great choice!

  4. very cute and yes, you have to do what works best for you and your baby. I had bumpers in my boys cribs until they started climbing up on them.

  5. i love the picture in your header! and i'm so excited that she sleeps all through the night in her crib. i've been alternating Baby V from her bassinet in our room to her crib since she was born and she loves both. She sleeps from 9 to 3:30 every night, but then goes right back to sleep after her feeding. so i can't complain either!
